Albert Anthony Dilger

Albert A. Dilger, 97, WWII Army Air Force Veteran. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Patricia (nee Stuber), loving father of Jim (the late Gail), Sue (Keith) Evans, Diane (Mark) Jones, Dave (Lorri), Bob (Ann), Mark (Maureen), Dan (Barb), Mike CFD (Carrie) and Tricia (Steve) Gadberry, dearest grandfather of Jason, Jeff, Nicole and Megan Evans, Drew (Sheema) and Ian (Liz) Jones, Elise, Jack, Patrick, Matt, Kelsi, Erin, Braelyn, Sean, Nick, Zack, Michael and Brooke Dilger, Ryan (Layne) and Adam Gadberry, great-grandfather of Alaric, Ayah, Leighton, Laylah and Fitz Jones and Eva Guadagni; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Al, or Trebla as he liked to call himself, graduated from the University of Illinois on the GI Bill. Al was an Advertising Executive for 60+ years and owner of Paulsen & Partners Advertising Agency. He was an active member of St. Denis Parish since 1954, including President of St. Denis Holy Name Society, Denis Days, Bowling League, and as an Usher and Reader. He was honored with the Archdiocesan Christifideles Award in 2016. He was past president of Bogan Baseball Little League and manager for all the years his sons played ball. He was a member of Ridge Country Club for 30+ years and founded and coordinated for 25+ years the Sundowners Club (Men’s summer golf league). Al was also an avid sports fan, particularly the Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois Men’s Basketball. He was thrilled when his beloved Cubs won the World Series in 2016.

All services will be held in Chicago, IL.

Visitation: Tuesday, June 21, 2022, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415.

Mass of the Resurrection 10:30 AM.

Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
