Barbara A. Nilles, 84, of Pompano Beach, FL passed away at home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born in Newark, New Jersey, her family moved to Fort Pierce, Florida when she was 8 years old. She had been a resident of Sebastian, Vero Beach, and Pompano Beach, Florida. She also lived in Waynesville, North Carolina, with her husband Donald Nilles and worked as a realtor there prior to retirement. She was very spiritual and a member of several Lutheran Churches.
Survivors include her son Eugene Apley of Vero Beach, FL; her daughters Susan Salituri of Pompano Beach, FL, and Linda Mercincavage of Palm Bay, FL; her sister Carol Bens of Pompano Beach, FL; and her four grandchildren Bruce Lee Salituri, Kyle Dunathan, Anna Dunathan, and Katie VanDee.
She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Nilles and two brothers Andrew Mesito and Guido Mesito, Jr.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Pompano Beach, FL.
A memorial service and reception will be held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Pompano Beach on Saturday, January 31, 2026. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life.
