Clayton Chancey Weissing, 37, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on June 30, 2025, after a long and difficult battle with uncontrolled type 1 diabetes.
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Clayton had a lifelong love for the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a talented marine mechanic, a professional deep sea fisherman, and a skilled plumber. He lived more life in his 37 years than many do in 90 — always hunting, fishing, diving and hiking.
Clayton is survived by his father, Matthew Weissing; mother, Janice Vedernjak and stepfather, Ken Vedernjak; brother, Daniel Weissing; brother, Mark Kulansky; sister, Kateland Cortizo and brother-in-law, Rodrigo Cortizo; two nephews and a niece. Clay was a strong believer in Jesus Christ, and is now reunited in heaven with his four grandparents.
Though his time here was far too short, his impact was deep, and his memory will be carried forward with love, laughter, and unforgettable stories by all who knew and loved him.
Clay was honored with a private service at Kraeer Funeral Home in Pompano Beach. He will be returned to the sea, where he found his greatest peace.
“In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." - John 14:2-3
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
