KOSITS, Eleanor Lucie Commeret was born in Queens, New York on May 21, 1916. She was the first daughter and third child of six born to Anthony and Lucie Commeret. She was the last to join them in the presence of the Lord. At age 21, after a three year wait, her father allowed her to marry Rudolph Kosits on June 26, 1937. Eleanor and Rudy were married until his death in 1997. She is survived by her three children Rudolph J. Kosits and his wife Cheryl, Roger A. Kosits and his wife Deborah, and Nancy Ronan and her husband Alan; by seven grandchildren: Russell Kosits (Missy), Andrew Kosits, Joseph Kosits, Larissa Kosits (Carl Johansen), Rudolph Kosits (Nancy), James Ronan (Michelle) and Ann Collins (Anthony); and by six great-grandchildren; Brandon and Kaylee Ronan, Grace and Timothy Kosits, Josiah Collins and baby girl Johansen-Kosits due in January. Eleanor loved God and her family. She was a joyous, vibrant, intelligent woman. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends; to celebrate holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and births. She never forgot to send a birthday or anniversary card to a family member or friend. Family members included all nineteen of her nieces and nephews and eventually their spouses and children. Anyone who wanted to know any family member birthday or anniversary would just call Eleanor. Her grandchildren can testify to receiving cards for all occasions. Everyone of her family knew the depth of her love for them. Though she worked full time for nearly twenty years in banking in New York City, her church activities were tireless. She was active all her adult life in women's ministry until the last few years. She was a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent, a deaconess, a ruling elder, and active in missions. There are fond memories of meals shared with missionaries from around the world. Anyone who knew her knew the depth of her love for the Lord. At the end of her life she lost many abilities, and it was difficult to watch. yet, the joy you could see in her face when she heard her favorite hymns or listed to God's word was a testimony to that undying love. Her greatest joys, her family and her Lord, were still visible in a radiant face and a beautiful smile.
