Marcia was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago. She attended Schurz High School and Northwestern University. Marcia met the love of her life, Herman Rose, and they married in 1961. Herman and Marcia moved to Florida, settling in Lighthouse Point in 1965, where they made a beautiful life together along with their daughter Stacy, extended family and many many wonderful friends. Marcia was involved in numerous charitable organizations as well as the PTA, and was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she played an integral part in the successful campaign to have the existing church built.
Marcia’s name was synonymous with “classy” and she always looked beautiful. It was no secret that her favorite color was purple and that she was a fashionista before that word ever came into existence. Marcia had a huge heart and her smile was infectious. For a small woman she had a large impact on so many lives and she will be greatly missed.
Marcia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Rose and her parents Jean and Joseph Hajdic. Marcia was the beloved mother of Stacy Rose Pomeroy (June Cavallo), proud grandmother of Stephen Pomeroy, Garrett (Maddie) Pomeroy, and Zachary Pomeroy, dear sister of Linda (Carter) Henningsen, Paula (the late William) Bloom, and Kenton (Christine) Hajdic. She adored June’s family, Jackie (Jon) Newborn, Eric Getz, and Bryce Newborn. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a dear and loving friend to many.
