On September 17, 2016, while sleeping, Nicole departed this life to continue her journey to new adventures She carried with her an abundance of love and comfort from her family, and caring thoughts from her multitude of friends.
A great fan of the theater and the art of acting, Nicole made her first appearance on December 27, 1973 to the cheers of her small audience of two fans, her mother Arlene and her dad Jack, who now live in Coconut Creek, Florida. Her fan club soon included her sisters Karen, now residing in Arcadia, Florida and Angela, currently living in Willits, California, and rapidly added grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins locally and in Michigan and across the nation. Over her short life of 42 years, Nicole loved entertaining her family and legions of friends with comedy, drama, slapstick and sorrow, and is now a Star in the hearts of so many. She is forever a bright light on the heavenly stage and will twinkle her love down on any and all who look for her in the evening sky.
Nicole graduated from high school in Brandon, Florida, where she acted in school plays for several years. She then ventured west and earned a degree from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. She soon began appearing in a variety of small roles in television programs, movies, and theater productions. Events eventually required that she return to Florida, but she never forgot her many California friends, including her special friend Greg who always played a big role in her heart, and her acting instructors and fellow entertainers who kept in touch with her over the years and the miles.
After returning to Florida and receiving her Bachelors Degree at Florida International University, Nicole became a teacher and used her dramatic flair and love of the arts to entertain and teach (but mostly entertain) her students at New River Middle School in Fort Lauderdale. She was loved by her students and loved helping them in many ways while she taught Language Arts to children from all levels and backgrounds of life. Her classes were never dull and her teaching antics kept her students entertained while they learned. She taught them from standard texts and also had them reading and reciting the roles of characters from her own books of Shakespeare's plays. Nicole also felt blessed by the society and lasting friendships from her fellow teachers and school staff, who never knew what crazy happy bubble of fun Nicole would burst to keep them laughing and loving.
Nicole loved the environment and animals of all kinds. She spent many happy hours in the Everglades with her friends, her father, and often by herself. She also enjoyed growing new trees on her patio from acorns and seeds she gathered around her neighborhood. When not outdoors, she spent time loving her animal "children", and always had at least one pet, sometimes as many as five. She rescued most of her pets from bad situations and rehabilitated them with her care and her love.
Nature, acting, and teaching aside, Nicole loved most being Aunt Colie to her nephew Travis and her nieces Jessica, Amanda, Ciara and Tessa. She thrived on their love and was happiest giving her love to them. Sometimes that love was in the form of outrageous beauty makeovers for a niece, practical jokes on her nephew, tongue-twisting nicknames, and lessons in being silly and serious and living and loving.
Nicole's family and friends can share more love and laughs in Nicole style at a celebration of her life party prepared by her cousin Doug and her aunt Stephanie on Friday, September 23, starting at 6 PM at 2865 Marina Circle, Lighthouse Point, Florida. It will be an informal casual dress gathering to share food and fun and love and laughter and goofy antics in memory of the wonderful woman who was herself a living blend of love and laughter and goofy antics.........Nicole Marie Gallie.
Take your final bows, Nicole, then exit, stage left, to loud applause and the roar of the crowd.
In lieu of flowers, Nicole would also love to have you donate to an environmental cause of your choice, or plant a tree in her memory.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private family gathering to return her cremains to nature will be held at a later date.
Arrangements under the direction of Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pompano Beach, FL.
