Annie was born to Servero Rodriguez and Candida Romero, both from San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She preceded in death by her husband Manuel Menchaca, siblings Frank Rodriguez, Imelda Salas and Jesse Rodriguez, along with her daughters JoEllen Lona, Cynthia Rodriguez and Belinda Menchaca.
Annie attended school in Port Arthur, Texas, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1944. On December 4, 1951, Annie married the love of her life, Manuel Menchaca together they had 5 daughters Alma, JoEllen, Belinda, Cynthia, and Lupe. Annie was a devoted woman of faith and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Port Arthur.
Annie had many passions that kept her life full and joyful. She loved to dance, listen to music, gardening, cook, read, watched Hallmark movies, sports the Astros, Cowboys and Saints were her team. She took great pride in her appearance and never left the house without her hair styled and her lipstick on.
Annie was a strong, courageous, and remarkable woman—the matriarch of her family. She lived a full 100 years. Annie legacy lives on through loving family members, including 15 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She also held close to the families of her siblings, always including them with love.
Annie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is now reunited in eternal peace with those who passed before her. Though her absence leaves a void, we find comfort in knowing Annie is no longer suffering and is at peace in her heavenly home, prepared for her by God.
