Bernice Marie Broussard, 101, of Port Arthur passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015. Bernice was born December 6, 1913 in Sulphur, Louisiana to Olausie and Lydia Guidry. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and she also belonged to the Senior Club Luncheon at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Bernice loved to exercise and was a part of the Silver Sneakers at the Y.M.C.A. She was very independent and was always there for her family, especially her sister Mrytle.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Olauise Joseph Guidry and Lydia Margarette LeBlanc; and 6 brothers and sisters. She is survived by numerous niece, and nephews; and her special friend, Kathy Roccaforte.
A “Special Thank You", to the staff of Lake Arthur Place and New Century Hospice for their loving care for Bernice.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with services to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
