Betty Joe Odom

Betty Joe Odom, 70, of Port Arthur passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Mid Jefferson Extended Care in Port Arthur. Betty was born on July 9, 1941, in Port Arthur to the late Joe and Sophie Harris. Betty was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. Betty’s greatest achievement and main focus in her life was raising her children and having a strong unified family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and proud grandmother. She will be missed by many.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband for over 28 years, Ralph Odom, Sr., and sister, Carol Lee LeBlanc

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sophie Lanette Mason and her husband Mark Mason, Jr.; Julie Ann Odom, Christi Odom, all of Port Arthur; brother John Ed Theriot and his wife Phyllis of Nederland; grandchildren, Cassie Mason, Makayla Odom Mariah Odom, Logan Odom, Talia Licatino, Collin Ralph Odom and newest grandchild, Vannah Joe Odom, nephew and God son, Jason Theriot, niece, Dianne Vega, long time friend, Rivers Romero of Port Arthur.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur.
