Calvin Prewitt Irvin Jr.

Calvin “CP” Irvin Jr., passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Calvin was born July 16, 1938 in Burkeville Texas to Calvin P. and Marie Irvin. He was a lifelong resident of Groves Texas and retired from Fina Refinery after 33 years of employment. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Port Arthur where he served as a Deacon.

Calvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years Mary Alice (Coon) Irvin and his parents.

Survivors include brothers, Jerry Irvin and wife Carol of Victoria, Donald Irvin and wife Lucille of Burkeville; sisters, Sandra Irvin of Burkeville; Gail Painton and husband Gary of Hemphill; his son Calvin “Niell” Irvin and wife Karen of Katy; daughters, Tammie Robbins and husband Todd of Leander; Chrissie Hartley and husband Kris of Round Rock; grandchildren, Daniel Cline and Amanda De Los Santos , Kaleb Irvin, Kacey Irvin and Kolton Irvin; great-grandchildren , Jonah Hartley, Asher Hartley, Tyler De Los Santos and Alyssa De Los Santos.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves with Pastor Bill Brazell officiating.
