With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlene Wilson, 83, of Groves, Texas, who left this world on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Labure and partner Holly Wilson; her son, Troy David Bazar and wife Jaime; her beloved sisters, Patsy Martin, Peggy Hoelzer, and Audrine Miguez; and her grandchildren, Brandon Bazar, Beau Bazar, Joshua Labure, and Jacob Labure. She also leaves behind numerous other cherished family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster Joseph and Mable Zerangue; her son, Keith Lee Bazar; her brothers, Joe Zerangue and Charles "Buck" Zerangue; and her sister, Betty Schmidt.
Charlene had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures—dancing with her sisters, nieces, and nephews at Larry’s French Market and the Boudain Hut, laughing, and creating memories with her family. She had a kind and caring heart, dedicating her younger years to serving others as a devoted caretaker.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4100 Lincoln, Groves, Texas 77619, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. Charlene will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Honoring her as pallbearers are Brandon Bazar, Beau Bazar, Joshua Labure, Jacob Labure, Rusty Smith, and Hal Landry.
Charlene’s love, laughter, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
