Mrs. Christine Mannino Mannino Calhoun

Christine was born on March 18, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas to Euna Tauzin Mannino and Benjamin Mannino. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves and was a wife; mother, grandmother and homemaker, who loved to cook, crochet, work in her garden and spend time with her family.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, John Calhoun III of Groves; daughters, Jayna Calhoun of Bridge City and Janis Calhoun of Groves; son, John Calhoun IV of Groves; her twin sister, Jeridine Wolford, Edith Mannino, Marylyn Touchette and her twin sisters, Suzanne LaFluer and Dianne Landry all of Groves; grandchildren, Jared Defrancis, Justin Defrancis both of Bridge City, Blake Calhoun, Conner Labure and Crystal Calhoun all of Groves. Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Euna Mannino; brothers, Ishmael Borel, Ralph Mannino, Benjamin Mannino and Kenneth Mannino; sister, Ramona Gibson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves with Msgr. Kenneth Greig serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
