

Delbert Harvey Morrow, 80, of Port Arthur, formerly of Wharton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at South East Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur. Delbert was born on July 18, 1931, in Delta, Iowa to the late Oren and Nellie Morrow and lived in Port Arthur since 1977. Delbert was a loving father, devoted husband and proud grandfather. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed his time camping and fishing. Delbert was a welder with Natural Gas & Pipeline and retired in 1986 with 33 years of service. Delbert was responsible for building the pipeline from Chicago to the Gulf. He spent many months at a time away working in the Gulf. Delbert spent his retirement years at his camp on Toledo Bend, enjoying nature and dodging hurricanes.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret; sons, Danny Earl Morrow and Roger Delbert Morrow; and two brothers, Albert Morrow and Gerald Morrow.
Delbert is survived by his daughters, Kathy Shepherd and her husband Ray of Prairieville, Louisiana; Julie Oubre of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; twin brother, Don Morrow of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Dwight Morrow of Sigourney Iowa; grandchildren, Christina Njeru and her husband John of Houston; Rachel Graff and her husband Joey of Baton Rouge; Ashley Bordelon and her husband Brett of Denham Springs, La.; Matthew Marrow of Alvin, Texas; Chase Oubre of Ocean Springs , Ms.; Melissa Oubre of Ocean Springs; Leigh-Ann Shepherd of Gonzales, La.; great-grandson, Micah Graff and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
