Donald is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, of 58 years; his daughter Karon Kantor; son, Darron Harrison and wife Candy; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sadie Harrison; brothers, Douglas Harrison and R.B. Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Donald served in the National Guard for 12 years. He retired from Huntsman after 39 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Harrison’s hobby was raising cattle and horses. He graduated from PNG in 1955 and played football for the Indians in the State Championship in 1953; and in the semi-finals in 1954. Donald also had several football scholarship offers.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Port Neches. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
