

Eduardo “El Chaparro” Torres, 48, of Port Arthur, TX, passed away, Sunday, June 19, 2016. “El Chaparro” was born February 3, 1968 in Cotija, Michoacan, Mexico to the late Jesus and Enriqueta Torres. “El Chaparro” was a strong willed, independent and very confident man. He was a hardworking man who was dedicated to his family and cherished every moment with them. “El Chaparro” had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was very friendly and with that, had a lot of friends. He loved nature, taking care of his birds, and gardening. He loved cooking, listening to music, and taking pictures. “El Chaparro” enjoyed his cars and cologne. He was always well groomed and didn’t like anyone messing up his hair.
“El Chaparro” was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Torres and Enriqueta Mungia Torres; and his brother, Armando Torres. He is survived by his wife, Luz Maria Torres, children, Eduardo Torres, Jr. and wife Sandy, Eddie Huezo and wife Esmeralda, Samara Marin and husband Misael, Enriqueta Alexandria Torres; grandchildren, Eva and Elany and one expecting grandchild, Mimi. “El Chaparro” also leaves behind brothers, Alfredo Torres and wife Amanda, Jesus Abel Torres and wife Guadalupe, Israel Torres and wife Maricella; sisters, Rosa Maria Torres and husband Rafael, Juanita Valencia and husband Jesus Eduardo, Sandra Torres and husband Fernando and sister-in-law, Lilliana Mansilla; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends to cherish his memories.
A Christian Vigil and Rosary will be recited Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
