

J.D. “Bud” Domingue, 85, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, June 01, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Bud was born April 22, 1927, in Port Arthur to the late Numa and Rose Domingue. Bud was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Many words could describe Bud, but his friends and family would say he was a friendly and generous person that valued his family, friends and country. Bud was a veteran of WWII, serving proudly in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 4820 of Port Neches. He retired from Fina in 1987 with over 40 years of service as a Rotating Equipment Specialist and Machinist. He served his country and community with great pride. His hobbies included woodworking, building birdhouses that he regularly gave away to his friends. Bud was known for his pecans that he grew and acquired and generously gave away to friends and family. Bud was a sports fan but was a lifelong NY Yankee fan above all teams. He enjoyed his daily ritual with his friends of meeting for coffee. He will be greatly missed by many in his community.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Elridge Duplechin and Tommy Domingue and sister Gladys Holbrook.
Bud is survived by his sons Buddy and his wife Cindy of Port Neches; Steven Domingue and his wife Moselle of Austin; daughter, Sue Wall and her husband William of Austin; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, June3, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
