Margie Lena Martin

She was born April 14, 1927, Port Arthur, Texas to the late Jappie and Lelda (Norris) Holmes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, William Allan “Billy” Messina, one brother, Wilmer Holmes and one baby sister Holmes.

Margie enjoyed camping, swimming, playing card games, cooking and attending church at Tony Christian Church and Groves Baptist Church in Texas.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Melody (Freddy) Carver of Harts; one step daughter, Cheryl Ann Martin of Texas; one son, Gennero “Terry” (Judy) Messina of Magnolia, TX; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Holmes of Buna, TX; four grandchildren, Donna Pratt of Harts, Keith Carver of Harts, Sandra Moran of Houston, TX and Jennifer Guillen of Spring, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Heather Carver, Alex Pratt, Ryan and Blake Moran, Adrian Messina and Dallas and Rocco Guillen; she is also survived by, Dianne & Dennis Martin of Texas, her special niece, Vonda & Jody and her children, Sonny & Guy Esposito, MaryLou Morris and her special friends, Mike & Rachel Carver.

Visitation and Services were held at Freeman Funeral Home in Chapmanville, West Virginia.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
