María Concepción Guerrero

María Concepción Guerrero, 83, of Port Arthur, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. María was born December 25, 1933, in Mexico to Juan Guerrero and Petra Jaloma. María was a hardworking, strong willed and independent woman who was the Matriarch of her family. She never complained about anything and was always there for others. María was a great cook with tamales being her specialty. She made her living to support her family by selling her delicious, very famous well known tamales in the Golden Triangle area.

María was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Botello and grandson, Carlos Enrique Delatorre. She is survived by her children, Laura Vargas, Juanita Botello, Luz Idalia Delatorre, Macario Delatorre, Rosa Rendon, Leticia Lora, Veronica Acosta, Carlos Guerrero, and Rosaura Figueroa. María also leaves behind thirty grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren to cherish her memories.

A Christian Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m., with the family to receive friends and relatives from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
