In her youth, our Mom was a free spirit who moved from Pennsylvania to California where she met our Dad, who was serving in the Marine Corps. After a month-long engagement, they were married and moved to Port Arthur, TX. Mom raised five children under hard circumstances, but she always made sure our needs were met and did her best to provide for some of our wants. She was a “tough old broad” who was quoted as saying “old age ain’t for sissies.” She loved to travel, dance, do ceramics, and was known for her cooking. But she loved her family most of all. Her family known her to be funny and adventurous, yet she never gave herself credit for what she's done.
A special thank you to her son, Alan Bourgeois, who took our mother into his home for 4 years when she was unable to care for herself. It was due to his special care that Mom was able to celebrate her 93rd birthday last month.
Visitation will be held at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur on March 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm, followed immediately by the funeral service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
