Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grammier-oberle.com for the Nguyen faOur beloved mother, Rau Thi Nguyen, better known as Mrs. Vong, age 61, left us on September 24, 2020. Our mom was born on September 20, 1959 in Phuoc Tinh, Viet Nam to Am Nguyen and Nuoi Nguyen. She was married to our father, Dong (Vong) Nguyen, for 48 years. She came to the United States and stayed in Beaumont, Texas. She eventually moved to Port Arthur, Texas and lived there for 45 years. Along with her husband, she raised 12 children, 18 grandchildren, and 1 fur baby pet.
She is survived by her husband, Dong Nguyen and her children, (7) Daughters: Nga Cindy and husband, Binh Benny Doan, Hien and husband, Thuan Pham, Thu and husband, Kha Nguyen, Mai and husband, Diep Pham, Deanna and husband, John Nguyen, Mindy and fiancé, Hai Duong, and Eileen and fiancé, Thai Pham; (5) Sons: Thi and wife, Hue Nguyen, Tai (Cong) and wife, Thao Vu, Phi, Oliver, Lucas, and (1) Thirteen (her fur baby pet); (18) grandchildren: Daniel, Darren, Emily, and David Doan; Ronnie, Kenny, Scotty, and Joey Pham; Kasey, Kylie, and Kristin Nguyen; Caron Pham; Lexi Sandoval and Michael Duong; Vivian, Billy, and Myla Nguyen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Am and Nuoi Nguyen, brother, Hoi Nguyen, and grandson, Jason Pham.
Our mother was a humble person who always smiled and likes to tell silly jokes or stories. Blessed and proud with 12 children and 18 grandchildren, her home was never short of children running around. A deeply devoted Catholic, she can say her prayers at warp speed. Saddened by the loss of her parents and brother at an early age, she handled her sorrow with grace and strength thru the grace of the Lord and the Virgin Mary. Her hobbies are going crabbing and fishing with her husband, play Pick 3, and take turn visiting her daughters to play with her grandchildren. Mom always remind her children to have more children like her…. she said, when you meet people, they don’t ask you, how much money you have on your bank account; but, they will ask you, how many children do you have? She will always be remembered for her humble yet strong belief of her place in the world.
