Rebecca Becky Joyce Landry Lavergne

Rebecca was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and had been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Although she enjoyed bowling, crafts and coaching softball, her favorite thing in life was gathering with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilman Joseph Lavergne; 4 brothers, Wallace Landry, Paul Landry, Alfred Landry and U.J. Landry; a sister, Emma Lee and her parents.

Her survivors include 4 daughters, Tina Aymond and husband Patrick of Sulpher, LA, Tammy Sue Lavergne of Hampshire-Fannett, Patricia Venable and husband Paul of Hampshire-Fannett, Deborah Scoggins and husband David of Richardson; 2 sisters, Carrie Bean of Groves, Lisa Purser and husband Hilton of Groves; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
