Mr. Mancil served in the United States Air Force and was a lifelong native of Port Arthur. He enjoyed square dancing with his late wife, Mamie and visiting with friends, but he never turned down a chance to go fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mamie Mancil and step-son, Michael Elizondo.
Richard is survived by a son, Michael Mancil; three daughters, Evelyn Mancil Eaton and husband of Dallas, Rhonda Wiggins of Port Acres, Lori Mancil of New Iberia, LA; twin step-daughters, Brenda Landry and husband Keith of Nederland, Glenda Fisette and husband David of Cypress and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A gathering of his friends will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel, Port Arthur.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
Pallbearers will be Keith Landry, Klint Landry, LeRoy Tate, David Fisette, Preston Boudreaux and Gary Pigg.
