Thomas Trevino was born September 21, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, and passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 87. A lifelong presence in Port Arthur, Thomas built a life rooted in steady work, deep devotion, and a quiet way of showing love that never asked for attention but was always felt.
Thomas served in the Army, carrying forward the sense of duty and loyalty that shaped so much of his life. He also spent 30 years working as a boom operator on the water, work that demanded endurance, discipline, and the kind of reliability others came to count on without question.
More than anything, Thomas loved his family. He showed up—again and again—at every family event, and nothing made him prouder than watching his grandkids play sports. His care extended beyond people, too as he had a soft heart for stray animals and often took in cats and dogs that needed shelter and affection. At home, he found peace working in his back yard and garden, and he enjoyed time spent fishing. And in the simple rituals of family life, he had his favorites, especially meals at “Cathy’s Kitchen,” as he liked to call it, when he sat down to enjoy his daughter-in-law’s cooking with gratitude.
Thomas will be remembered for the steady ways he loved, through hard work, faithful presence, openhanded generosity, and a compassionate heart that made room for family, neighbors, and even the animals that found their way to him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Doroteo Trevino; his mother, Maria Ramirez; his great-granddaughter, Brynley Rose Trevino; his brothers, Julio Trevino, Jimmie Trevino, Jesse Trevino, and Nick Trevino; and his sisters, Mary Alice, Teresa Flores, Julia Trevino, Refina Collozo, and Virginia Perales.
Thomas is survived by his sons, Robert Trevino (Cathy Trevino), Thomas Trevino JR, and Frank Trevino; his grandchildren, Matthew Trevino, Justin Trevino, Jonathon, Joshua Trevino, Jeremiah Trevino, and Micheal Trevino; and also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends to honor his memory.
