Born and raised in White Plains, New York, Arthur's life took a beautiful turn when he went on a blind date in 1962 and met Janet, his beloved wife of 45 years. Together, they raised three children. Arthur’s career as a union electrician took them on a journey across the country, where they forged lifelong friendships before finally settling in Port St. Lucie, FL, in 1988. They remained married until Janet’s passing in 2007.
Arthur had been a dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 60 years. He cherished the camaraderie, friendship, and support of his union brothers throughout his life.
In recent years, Arthur found joy in spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved cat. In his younger years, he had a zest for life and was known for his quick wit and excellent sense of humor. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, gardening, cooking, cars, good music, and entertaining—he truly knew how to celebrate.
Arthur was preceded in death by his son, John; his parents, Virginia and Frank Filardi; his wife, Janet; and his brother, Tom. He is survived by his sister, Alice, and her husband, Tom Breitholtz, of Minnesota; his son, Frank, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Harold Wilson, of Savannah, GA; granddaughter Brooke Wilson of Savannah, GA; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Dr., Port St. Lucie, FL, on Saturday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m.
