

Darlene J. Galliher of 8113 Meadowlark Lane, Savanna Club, Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed from this life on August 23, 2018 at the age of 76. She was in the loving presence of her family and friends at the Treasure Coast Hospice.
She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Edward J. Galliher and Faye Schubert Galliher. She is survived by her brother James M. Galliher and his wife Mary Anne of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, as well as her cousins Sean P. Galliher, Paul K. Galliher, and Marilou Muscarella and their families, all of Los Angeles, California; Thomas F. Galliher and his family of Saratoga Springs, New York, and James M. Galliher and his family of San Diego, California. She also leaves her best friend and traveling companion Elaine Simms, and many friends at Savanna Club in Port St. Lucie, where Darlene lived in retirement.
She was active on the Board of Directors of the Homeowners' Association, the Board of Elections, the Singles Group and the Red Hats Society at Savanna Club.
Darlene attended public school in Worcester and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1960. She furthered her education at Worcester State College and later at Harvard University in non degree programs.
For over 30 years, Darlene pursued an interesting and varied career as a purchasing and procurement manager for technology and financial firms such as Digital Equipment Corporation, Excel Partners and Hewlett Packard Company, and later with the Shawmut and State Street Bank in Boston.
In retirement she had many traveling adventures in all parts of the world, from Alaska to the tip of South America, including many cruises and expeditions with her friends from Savanna Club.
She was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie and was a member of the Elks Lodge of Jensen Beach, Florida. She was also a member of the National Association of Purchasing Management and the Purchasing Management Association of Boston.
Following a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church at 10:00 a.m. on September 7, 2018, a Celebration of Darlene's life will take place at the Cove at the Fairways Club House at Savanna Club from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Fernhill Memorial Park in Stuart, Florida at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Darlene's name to the Treasure Coast Hospice of Fort Pierce, Florida or to the American Cancer Society.
