

Donald Bean, 90, passed away December 13, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Port St. Lucie Florida. He met the love of his life Nancy (Hubert) and shared a beautiful 67 year marriage together. He also leaves behind his four children and spouses: Don/Ann Bean, Lynn/Dan Sherry, Kevin/Laura Bean, Kim/Tim Ruelle, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who filled his life with happiness and adventure.
Don was born in Springfield, MA, son of Carl and Blanche Bean. He was predeceased by his sisters Thelma Shaw and Gloria Dubowski. He is survived by his sister Barbara Tulip. He served in the US Navy on the USS Huse destroyer during the Korean War. He later was employed as a Springfield Fire Fighter/Lieutenant and a machinist at Loughman Tool.
He spent summers at his Klondike Campground in Otis MA where he enjoyed giving golf cart rides to his grandchildren and cooking at the poolside café. He also shared good times with family and friends at Collins Tavern and was a lifetime Elks club member.
He will be remembered most for his gentle kindness and big heart. A private service will be held at a later date, burial at the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam, MA. In Don’s memory donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
