Dorothy Gene Kline (who always went by “Gene”) was born on July 6th, 1927 in Hopewell, Pennsylvania to William “Babe” Jones and LaRue Blake Jones. She graduated in 1945 from Robert P. Smith High School in Hopewell township, Pennsylvania. Upon his return from serving in the army, she and Paul Roy Kline were married on November 20th, 1946 in Cumberland, Maryland. In the early part of their marriage they ran a small gas station which also contained housing quarters in which they lived. After the birth of their daughter, he completed some college. Then, in 1952 they moved to Wickliffe, Ohio. As a stay at home mom like many others of that era, she grew to have many friends from the local neighborhood and church. In 1960 work opportunities led them to sunny south Florida in West Palm Beach. She continued the role of homemaker/wife/mother until 1965 when she began working for IT & T Semiconductors until their closing in 1978. In 1984 they bought a home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. They were active in church and she enjoyed singing in the church choir and being a greeter to those who were attending. She also enjoyed going camping in their RV both before and after their retirements even though she was burdened with rheumatoid arthritis. She always had a positive attitude and never complained. She was a light to all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and LaRue Jones, and her loving husband Paul R. Kline who passed on March 1, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Diana Kline Zimmardo and Philip John Zimmardo, her sister Beverly Jones Zimmerman, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
We would also like to express sincere thanks to her recent nurses aids, nurses, and doctors involved in helping us through the hard times over these last couple of years.
