Eileen Jean Hobbs Hess, a beautiful young girl from Maywood, IL was born on February 21, 1936. Eileen grew up with two brothers and three sisters; married in 1954 to Charles Hess, to begin an adventure neither could have imagined. Before she would receive the first, of many phone calls from Chuck, explaining that 'they' had been transferred, again. It almost became the norm for Chuck to move himself and Eileen following with first one, soon three children in tow, along with all their 'worldly goods' in a moving van. Eileen followed Chuck one last time Tuesday June 4th, 2013 to her eternal reward, where he has been waiting for her since 2007, along with her parents Steven and Jean Hobbs.
Eileen leaves three children to celebrate her life, Don, her oldest son in Port Saint Lucie, Fl., Vickie; her daughter, with partner Laura Johnson from Ft. Lauderdale; and Jerry who lives with his wife, Michelle; and Eileen's grandson, Charlie, in Orlando. Each carries their own special memories of her, but all will agree that although petite in stature she carried the strength of ten men. It was this strength that allowed her to spend countless nights in hospitals helping her family through this issue or that injury.
While her family knows most of her life, her two sisters, Marcie Wisler and Lorraine Hoedebeck, both retired and living in Naples, FL maintain the secrets of her early years. Showing the love and sharing the laughter, Eileen opened her heart and her home to all who needed her.
Mass will be held at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, FL on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a small reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Treasure Coast at www.TCHospice.org
