Frances J. Lyons, 70, died peacefully at her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida on May 29, 2011. Fran was born in Paterson, NJ, grew up in Totowa, NJ and was a Passaic Valley High School graduate. She raised her family in West Paterson, NJ and later moved to Port St. Lucie, FL, where she lived for the last 19 years and was employed by the Stuart Eye Institute.
Fran was a devoted mother to her four children: Kelly Donnelly Cook and husband Ted, Scott and former wife Chris Peters, Sean and wife Wendy, and daughter Terri Donnelly. Fran was a loving grandmother to Wyatt and Dustin Cook, and Sarah and Sage Donnelly. Fran is survived by her dear sisters Charlotte Marino and Rose Salameno. In addition to those mentioned, Fran had many family members and friends who loved her very much.
Fran always put her family first. We were all so very proud and happy for her to have made a life of her own in Florida, where she enjoyed taking long rides down the coastline and often sunbathed at Jensen Beach. Fran was inspired by the sun that rose every morning and established many treasured friendships in Florida and throughout her life. During her last years fighting lung cancer, she worked so hard to stay alive for her family, the sunshine and beautiful skies. These are the things that put a smile on her face down to her last days here on earth.
Fran is predeceased by former husband, John J. Donnelly, father, Francis, and mother, Florence Lyons, who lived with her until the end of her life, at age 96.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to her memory can make donations in her name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
We will all miss her and wish her peace.
Blessed Be.
