

During his lifetime he traveled many paths. One of those paths lead him into the military.
He served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman where he was warmly referred to as “DOC”. As time went on his path lead him into law enforcement where by the time he retired, he was respectfully called Chief. After retiring from the Sanford Police Dept., his next path led him to GA, where he became one Douglas GA’s Magistrate Judges and to this day is still highly referred to as Judge Dillard. His greatest path of all was when he dedicated his life to Jehovah on Dec 11, 2010 and served almost 14 years faithfully in the English Douglas congregation. There he was lovingly called Brother.
Finally, his path after 25 years, brought him to reside in Port St. Lucie, FL. He became a member of the Port St. Lucie South Congregation. There is path came to an end, knowing and serving the Great God and Father Jehovah.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Nellie G. Dillard of 61 years.
One son, Vincent Dillard and wife Tanya Dillard of Sanford, FL.
Five daughters, E. Renee Dillard of Clarksville, TN. Janice Dillard of Jacksonville, FL. Jacqueline Browne and husband Lennox Browne of Port St. Lucie, FL. Lori Dillard of Port St. Lucie, FL and A. Meshelle Nathan of Sanford, FL.
From them, he also leaves 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren
Joe is the grandfather to the late Diamond Dillard and the great grandfather to the late Kenyana Smith.
A memorial service will be held September 27,2025 at 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 821 N. Country Club Road, Lake Mary, FL 32746
