Ah yes. Too many memories to share in a few sentences. My life in music is a direct result of meeting Sonny and becoming an original member of SONNY AND THE SUNLINERS.
Best times were Club 15 in Haverstraw New York circa 1962. We would start the Set with "DO YA LOVE ME I CAN REALLY MOVE" which moved that teenage crowd from all over the County into a frenzy of dance activity.
Afterwards back to Spring Valley and those Friday and Saturday nights were wild moving as the sleek Fords and Chevies moved slowly past our every night hangout Perrunas
I moved on to other music ventures. But every band I played in every gig I did those rhythm Patterns I played was a big part of those days Sonny and I fashioned at his top floor Apartment on Collins Avenue in Spring Valley. Then down around town to hang out Martios Pizza and the rest of the gang. Working Daitch Shopwell together . All night antics in the firehouse (Columbia) right across the street from my families pad in the Block House on West Street.
So I say My Man Sonny. Hop on that Musical Pony and steer that Guitar full speed ahead on your musical trip through the Universe and give a Big Hug to all those who left us as you now join together in Musical Universe. Love ya forever.-Bobby

It’s so tough saying goodbye to a friend of over 30 years. I met Sonny when I joined the Jensen Beach Fire Dept. Sonny and I became instant friends. Some of the funniest memories we’re trying to get Sonny to lie. I was trying to go to Indiana to see my girlfriend and my parents wouldn’t let me go. I asked Sonny to just tell my mom I was staying with him if she asked where I was, he started studdering and just couldn’t do it. The next time was having him pickup and deliver Thanksgiving dinner to my parents as we were driving in from out of state to surprise them. Mom kept asking him why he was bringing so much food. He couldn’t get out of there fast enough. It’s not goodbye my friend, just see ya later! I hope somehow we meet again! I know I’ll need a deal on a scanner at some point. Love, Bill and Stacey Andrews

Rest In Peace my old friend. I’ll really miss sitting in your music room playing guitars , singing, and laughing about the crazy things we did in the 60’s back in Rockland. Lots of memories to look back on.

Sonny brought music to life!! I loved how he shared his knowledge of songs and musicians for us all. His daily music posts meant so much to me. I enjoyed evenings listening to what songs he posted for us to enjoy. I'm going to miss this and Sunny in my life!

Just saw this. Called him Sonny pooch. He lived right in back of me in Spring Valley New York. Always about the fires and the music. Sonny and the Sunliners. Gave me my first guitar. Talk about the day the music died. Rest in peace my friend.
