I am so sorry for your loss, in all of our conversation it was evident that you have a very close family....in those cases it is even harder to accept the situation...Your Dad's passing, eventually will bring smiles to your faces, when you remember all the fond memories you have had...I remember when I lost my Dad 26 years ago, my neighbor told me that the frown I had, would turn to smiles with all the pleasant memories we have had. Yes it took time, but eventually I began to smile...and to this day I smile and remember, the blessed time we enjoyed together....you and your family will do the same....We will keep al the family in our prayers...God Bless.....Joe/Kathleen

I’ve known his Mr Hills granddaughter (Tameka) all of my life and she’s always spoken very highly of her grandfather and would get very excited when it was time to visit her grandparents (I always wanted to go too!) Years ago she shared the cereal story with me which made me smile as I could visualize the story as she told  it.

What can I say that everyone hasn't already? I have so many memories of you, I can't honestly pick just one,  as long as I can remember you've been the rock. Your sense of humor will be missed.  The last time I saw you, you dropped some knowledge on my fiance and had such a chuckle how he reacted...
I came to Florida and was planning a surprise visit to you and aunty and got the news you had left us,  another beautiful soul has gone.  To my beautiful family we may not see each other or talk all the time but I know we all share the loss and the love. 
Sleep with angels uncle and kiss Lois for us we love you. 

I always enjoyed hearing you tell stories about me when I was younger. Whether it was how I rode a tricycle, how I used to walk on the tips of my toes or how I always thought my father was stronger then my mother.  The joy you showed each time you told the stories made me know that I was loved, cared for and seen.  Sometimes it’s easy to feel invisible, but when I was with you, you saw me for who I am and I knew that I was loved unconditionally. It’s hard to pick a favorite memory of you, because each one is so special, but the one I will never forget is the first time you met Amari (little Uriel).  I hope he grows up to be as kind, loving, hard working and faith-filled as you.  He has some big shoes to fill. Love you grandpa.

My memory with my Grandfather was in Philadelphia. He came to visit us...but my mom had to work so Grandpa stayed with me. I was about four years old, my mom left him a note telling him what I should have for breakfast....it said, hot cereal. So my grandfather pulls out a pot and then proceeds to pour milk and corn flakes into the pot. He then turns on the stove....I’m just watching. He then says crome and eat you hot cereal. I remember saying  “Grandpa that’s not how you make it. That kind of cereal is suppose to be cold...not hot. My grandpa then goes to the freezer and gets ice and puts the ice in the bowl, then says “Ok! There is your cold cereal!” For almost thirty-nine years I would tell that story to anyone and it was even more funny when I told the story in front you. You would just roll your eyes and cross your arms. There were so many more memories but this is the one that is ours. I will miss you ...miss hearing your booming voice.  But the last time we spoke you were having a hard time breathing but you talked with me on the phone and then I was able to get a chuckle out of you when I mentioned hot/cold cereal! So now you are in heaven with Auntie Lois....it’s ok...you can make her some hot/cold cereal until I see you again! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

My condolences goes out to the Hill family ,  it was just a few weeks ago my daughter  said how much Mr.  Hill  was such a  beautiful person at heart she said he would go and pick the ripe cherries and explained to her these are Jamaican cherries it was her first time tasting these cherries,  she stated that how she felt welcomed and appreciated and was saddened when she heard of Mr. Hills passing .

Uncle Uriel. I cannot believe you have left us. My heart is broken. What would I give to see and give you a hug just one more time.  Auntie B we love him but God wanted him more. He saw how much he was hurting and decided to take him home. To all my cuz. I know I know you are are hurting. But take it one day at a time. Heaven has gain an Angle. Uncle Urel,  I know we did'nt get to see you that often, but I know Mom talks to you and Aunt Beulah almost every day, she was always letting me know how you both were doing.  Whenever I visit port St Lucie, you were the one that took me around, you were always kind, always smiling and a very beautiful spirit.  I know Angela and the rest of the family where so bless to have you, you were always there for everyone, we are going to miss you, you will be in our hearts and memories for ever, rest in piece, love you always..💕

Grandpa 😞...I just want to let you know that you mean the world to me. Only a heart so dear as yours would give so unselfishly. For many things that you have done and all the times that you were there help me to know deep down inside how much you really care. Even though I might not say I appreciate all that you do richly blessed is how I feel having a grandpa just like you. Thank you grandpa for all the fun and all the smiles you have given us, even though you may be gone from my sight you are never gone from my heart. I LOVE YOU and I will always cherish you forever and always. ❤️

As a little girl, my first memory of Mr. Hill, is at Mrs. and Mr. White's house. They were having an event and I came into the kitchen to locate Tameka. There was so much food around and I was ready to eat. I washed my hands and grabbed a plate. My eyes looked around and I noticed golden colored oblong fried goodies. I had an idea of what they were, but I had never seen them that shape before. At least, not at my house. I asked Tameka: "Is that fried dumplings?" I don't know why I didn't notice Mr. Hill when I sat down, but I did when he boomed in Jamaican Patois: "Dat no fried dumpling! Dat festival!"

Continue to bless people with your festivals and rest peacefully in God's kingdom. 




Grandpa, you were a tremendous  support system to so many that you loved, cared for, and protected. Your powerful presence was felt by many and will never be forgotten. What an amazing, and inspiring life you led! With every step you have demonstrated how important it is to follow your heart, lead with kindness, and experience with joy, laughter and a little dance every now and then. Thank you for being a stellar example, and a wonderful human being. We are all so fortunate for having known you.

Mr. Hill has got the kind of promotion none of us mortals can quite understand. After that special meeting with the Almighty, he accepted his new responsibility like a true Jamaican, with no problem. I'm sure it will be a supervising position. You are yet to see his best work, but one day you will. Be happy for him! He has the best benefit package ever, excluding healthcare. Pat and I are looking forward to hanging out with him once again and talking about the good old treking days.

Everyday I wake up to the reality that you are gone. Each day feels odd, incomplete and just not right because you are not  a part of it. Grandpa you have left a hole in this family that cannot be filled- I miss you so much. I hope that you knew just how much you meant to me. You were always more than just a grandfather to me, you we’re also my father.  Even though I lost my dad you were always there, caring for me, encouraging me and loving me. It hurts me to know that you are no longer a phone call away. I will never again hear you tell the story of how I  would never pedal my tricycle or the fact that when I was a kid, I thought my father was twice as strong as my mother.  But what hurts me the most is that I was not there  and I never got to say goodbye. I wanted to be there. I tried to be there.  Rest well grandpa.   I love you.  

I am so torn, it just seems so unreal. I never called you Grandpa. You were more like a father to me in my eyes. I could't say Daddy so I called you my Haddy. You taught me so much, I just wish I had more time. But I am so glad that you got to be a part of Maeson's life. We will miss you dearly. Say hello to Mommy for me.
