

William, or to almost everyone “Mr. Bill”, was born in New York City to the late Haakon and Margaret Magnussen nee Erickson. He and his late wife, Patricia, retired to the Port St. Lucie area in 2002. He was a Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Lake Champlain (CV 39) during the Cuban quarantine, and was also a dedicated lifetime employee of the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. He enjoyed baseball, football and hockey and was an avid NY Mets, Jets, and Islanders fan. He was active in his children’s sports activities, coaching Little League and softball. In retirement, he enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and visiting his favorite hangout, Chili’s.
He was preceded in death in 2018 by his wife, Pat, and son Eric is 2017. Survivors include children, Kevin, and Karen (Christian), siblings, Virginia and Donald, and grandchildren, Eric and Steven.
Two Visitations for William will be held; Monday, March 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983 and again on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Aycock Funeral Home. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 1501 S Kanner Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994.
