It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ali M. Mabrouk, 38, of Taunton, Massachusetts. A beloved father, fiancé, brother, and friend, Ali passed away in his home in Minot, Maine, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from complications of kidney disease.
Born on March 7, 1987, in Taunton to Catherine A. Sousa and Mohamed A. Mabrouk, Ali grew up in the community and attended Taunton High School, where he was known for his happy-go-lucky spirit and strong work ethic. He spent a year at Fitchburg State College before enlisting in the United States Army in 2006. Stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, Ali served a tour in Afghanistan with the 598th Maintenance Company as a Computer/Detection Systems Repairer (94F). Following his honorable discharge, he pursued a career in the automotive industry, where he worked as a skilled and passionate mechanic for many years.
Ali was a devoted fan of the WWE, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, rock music, and video games, and was a lifelong Boston sports fan. He found peace watching sunsets from his porch, cherished visits to the ocean, and loved spending time with those he held close. As an avid animal lover, Ali cared for countless pets throughout his life, none more special than his beloved dogs, Parker and Molly, with whom he shared an especially deep bond.
Above all, Ali treasured his role as a father. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine L. Mabrouk of Pepperell, Massachusetts. Their relationship was full of laughter, music, and a shared love of Pokémon. His dad jokes, wild conspiracy theories, and off-key renditions of Three Days Grace will be remembered with fondness and joy.
Ali also leaves behind his fiancé, Amanda Crowell of Minot, Maine. From the moment they met in 2018, they were inseparable. Amanda selflessly stood by Ali’s side, offering unwavering love and care throughout his battle with kidney disease. Like lighthouses guiding one another through the darkest nights, their love was a steady, radiant light that will continue to shine into eternity.
He is survived by his siblings: Leonor Mabrouk of Colchester, CT; Ashlie Mabrouk of Taunton, MA; and Samuel Rivera, Samantha Rivera, and Felicia Rivera, all of Fall River, MA, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Ali’s love, strength, humor, big heart, and smile will be missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him. We love you so much Ali.
Services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will be invited to gather and share their memories and love for Ali.
