

She was born on February 26, 1928 in Thomaston, ME, a daughter of the late Maynard J. & Anna S. (McQuarrie) Brasier. Anne moved to Portland at an early age, attending Portland School schools and graduating from Deering High School in 1946. After high school, she went on to attend business school. She married George on February 22, 1947.
In her early years, she worked for New England Telephone; and after raising her family, went back to work for HP Hood for 29 years, retiring in 1990.
Her lifelong passion was genealogy and was a Mayflower descendant; her research took her into the 1400’s in England. Anne loved to travel and traveled to many cemeteries to obtain her genealogy information. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Christmas. She also was famous for her Christmas candies, fudge and peanut butter balls. She also was an avid bowler, and spent time knitting and sewing.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Gayle Beote and her husband Paul of Portland and her grandchildren Laura Carignan and her husband William, Brian Beote and his wife Tammy and Amy Beote all of Portland. She also leaves her great grandchildren Shane Beote, Shannon Beote, Nicole Carignan and Bethany Beote all of Portland as well as her great great grandson Ezekiel “Zeke” Dewever also of Portland, her sister-in-law Barbara Wildes of South Portland and a special cousin, Marilyn Brasier of Portland, who spent so much time with her during her illness.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at a time to be announced at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Street, Augusta.
