Curtis W. Murphy passed away at home on September 4, 2020. He was 59. He was born on December 20, 1960 in Camp Pendleton CA. He grew up in Upland CA and attended local schools until moving to Maine. In Maine, he finished his high school education and pursued an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts/Technology from Central Maine Community College in 2003. For the next few years, Curtis worked as a pressman at The Times Record in Brunswick ME. He later made the decision to change careers and began his career in the culinary industry. He worked for several establishments before landing at his most recent and favorite position at Bates College in Lewiston ME. He loved cooking for all kinds of people and especially enjoyed entering the food recipe contest every year at The Moxie Festival. He won the first place award several times. He also enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and gaming in his man room. He was a lover of history and he often watched Jeopardy, Discovery Channel and The History Channel. Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Celise, his two brothers, Paul and Eric, several nieces, nephews and cousins, his rescue dogs, Honey and Gracie and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Clara, his sister, Susie, several cousins, aunts and uncles. Be kind to one another.
