David Ernest Cameron

Dave Ernest Cameron, 76, of Portland, Maine, passed away on January 27, 2024, in Portland. Born on July 26, 1947, in Portland, Dave was a charismatic and spunky individual who was always the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and could crack jokes that would make anyone laugh. Dave had a passion for riding his motorcycle and capturing moments through his photography.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cameron, and his daughters: Shyla Cameron and her Husband Jay Dumas, Carissa Newton and her husband Gerald, and Kyna McKimson and her partner Jeff Layton. He is also survived by his step-children: Kristal Emery and her partner Tim Plante, and Patrick Emery and his wife Mandi. Dave leaves behind his brothers: Andrew Cameron and his wife Debbie, Kenneth Grant, and Vantile Cameron, as well as his sisters: Faith Rowe and her husband Billy, Cassandra Cameron Lambert and her husband Daniel Yaw, and Chris Protor. He will be fondly remembered by his several nieces, nephews, and eight cherished grandchildren.

Dave attended Portland High School and later pursued higher education at Westbrook College in Portland, Maine. He proudly served in the Army from 1966 to 1973. Dave had a successful career as a truck driver, showcasing his hardworking and loyal nature.

David found solace and spirituality in nature, as it was his place of worship. Dave enjoyed various hobbies including spending quality time with his family, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, photography, wood burning art, tennis, football, and gardening. He embraced life to the fullest and cherished every moment.

A memorial party to celebrate Dave's life will be planned by his family in the Spring/Summer, with details to be announced. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services in Portland, Maine, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dave Ernest Cameron will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His vibrant personality and zest for life will forever be cherished in our hearts.
