

David was born in Portsmouth NH, son of James and Elizabeth Emery on April 1, 1941. David was a graduate of Potter Academy and very active in music and drama. He then attended Prince Albert Technical institute in Hartford CT studying steam fitting.
He married the love of his life on November 29, 1975 in Portland ME. David was a Tractor Trailer driver for many years, even owning two of his own rigs and worked for various trucking companies. David also worked as a plumber and for NAPA until he retired early due to his health.
David had a wonderful voice with which he won four consecutive weeks and the finals on the talent show; Youth Cavalcade, winning a trip to NYC, singing “This Old House.” Along with varies talent shows he performed solos at church and sang in nursing and retirement homes. He was also a gifted and talented artist; he displayed and sold his very detailed colored pencil art coined as “Pencil Art Creations”.
David is survived by his wife Jean of Yarmouth, son John and girlfriend Tamara Burpee of Yarmouth. Grandchildren; Allyssa of Norway, Brianna and Anthony of PA.; he is also survived by seven great grandchildren and another on the way. He also leaves Elizabeth Stanhope who was a very special person to him, along with his grand-dog, Hunter, who was his best buddy.
A service will be held at the Woodfords Congregational Chapel, 202 Woodford St. Portland ME on Friday December 14th. A time of visiting will be held from 11am-1pm with a service to follow. Family and friends are invited to the function room after to share uplifting stories and remembrances.
