Douglas W. White

Douglas was born and raised in the Brunswick / Durham area of Maine.  He joined the US Navy in 1949 and served his country for a total of more than thirty years, active and inactive duty including service in Korea and Vietnam Wars.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Harvey, Lorence, Wendell, Donald, John and Richard as well as four sisters Nolia, Norine, Neota and Polly. 

He was also preceded in death by Joan Deemer, the love of his life and companion of more than twenty one years.  Douglas is survived by his three sons Stanley, Michael and Alan and his wife Terresa (from a former marriage with Nancy Dickson (Boyd) who passed in 2009).  Stanley's son Eric and Michael's Daughter Orion Libby.  He is also survived by an an extended family consisting of Joan's Children and Grandchildren Sandra Reilly, Susan Deemer and Keith Deemer; Sandra's son Chris Taylor and Daughter Marissa Corliss, Susan's son Joshua Robertson and daughter Carly Downs, Keith's son Keith and Daughter April.  Also dear to Douglas is Joan's grandson Richard Baldwin.

Douglas will be interred with military honors next to Joan on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Burr Cemetery in Freeport, ME.
