Edna Theresa Cushing

Born the 4th of March 1935 in Brooklyn, NY; she met Frederick Pierce Cushing at a roller-skating rink while he was stationed in NYC, and they married in 1953. The couple resided in the city of New York and then on Long Island, NY; also in Millville, NJ; and finally in Jay, VT. Edna moved to Portland, Maine after her beloved husband passed away.

In addition to her sister, JoAnne, and family members who live in the New Jersey area, Edna is survived by her six children: Mary, Fred, Nancy, Dave, Steve and Chris. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edna worked in different capacities at a local bank in Millville and retired from her position as branch manager before moving to Vermont. She was very proud of her accomplishments.

While living in Vermont, she and Fred were active members of the North Troy Congregational Church and also volunteered at senior meal sites. Edna loved living in Vermont and leaves behind many friends in the Jay and Troy area.

Thank you to The Park Danforth for making Edna feel welcome, loved and at home in Portland, Maine. We also want to thank Northern Light Hospice for taking care of her so well and especially those staff members at the P.D. who went out of their way to comfort her by showing love and compassion during her final days on Earth. Their efforts are very much appreciated.

May we find solace in the precious memories that we have of Edna and may she rest in Paradise forever.
