He was born in New Jersey on February 25, 1935 a son of the late Edward and Martha Daken. He grew up in New Jersey, attending schools in Elmwood Park.
Ed served his county in the US Army with an honorable discharge in 1956; after his service ended, he moved to Maine and helped run his parents store, Daken’s Variety Store in Yarmouth. After fifteen years, he moved back to New Jersey and meet his current wife Barbara. They combined their families and were married in 1973.
He retired from the town of Long Hill Township in New Jersey and moved back to Maine with his wife.
Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his four children; Nathan, Duane, Kim and Kristen, as well as twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will be no services; he will be inurned along with his wife at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totawa, NJ at a later date.
