
Gayle was born in Portland, ME on December 1, 1952 and is the daughter of Vincent and Irma Cox, formally of Portland. She attended Portland High School where she met the love of her life, Donald Cipriano, who she was married to for 47 years. They settled in Westbrook in 1975 where they raised their family, owned and operated a bakery, worked at Bradlees, and the Curtainshop together.
Gayle enjoyed going out to eat and shopping with her husband Don in their spare time. Gayle also loved working in retail and she will be always be fondly remembered for her friendly, outgoing personality, and making sure to greet everyone with a cheery smile. Her customers would come in especially seeking out her helpful assistance.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Cipriano of Westbrook; her daughter, Dawn Gagne and her husband Keith Gagne of Westbrook; her grandson Chance Gagne of Westbrook; her mother Irma Cox and her sister Karen Binder and her husband Dave of Emmaus, PA; along with her niece Traci Wilhide and her husband Mick of Emmaus, PA and their children, Chloe, Clay, and Kyler. She is also survived by her brother Merrill Cox, of Portland, ME. She is predeceased by her father Vincent Cox.
Gayle’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for all of the tremendous care that they provided to her and her family.
Per Gayle’s request, there will be a small family graveside service in the spring at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland, ME.
