John D. Egan

He was born in Massachusetts on June 30, 1961 a son of the late Desmond J. & Irene (Sullivan) Egan. He grew up on Sebago Lake and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School as a member of the class of 1979. After High School he attended the former Southern Maine Vocational & Technical Institute for carpentry.

John started working in carpentry at age 15 and eventually started his own business, John Egan Custom Builders.

John loved anything to do with the outdoors, which is why the love of his life was Sebago Lake. He enjoyed boating and jet skiing on the lake as well as hunting.

He will be sadly missed by his two sons Erik S. Egan of Portland and Robert Egan of Orlando, FL and his three daughters Ashley Perry and her husband Stephen of Gorham, Kayla Allen of Boston, MA and McKenzie Allen of Gorham. He also leaves a grandson Kai Alphonso of South Portland, a granddaughter Kennady M. Perry of Gorham and the family German Shepard Mya.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave, Portland, with Rev. Philip Shearman officiating.
