
Leonard was born in Rumford, ME on July 7, 1948 a son of the late Harland G. & Geraldine (Ellis) Parlin. He grew up in Canton and attended school in Canton and Dixfield.
Leonard worked for Bass Shoes for many years. He also worked at the Hartford Transfer Station for seventeen years after being forced into retirement after an illness in 1996. Later, Leonard worked for the town of Canton, as an operator at the Canton Transfer Station.
Leonard was a huge Red Sox fan and also enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and never turned down an opportunity for Maine lobster. His favorite way to spend time however was with his friends fishing.
He is survived by his son Leonard K. Parlin Jr. of Berkeley Springs, WV, his step son Jason Gammon of Hartford, ME and his former wife Patricia Gammon, also of Hartford. He also leaves two sisters Paula Young and her husband Gregory, Vicki Parlin, and a brother Wendal Parlin all of Canton, ME as well as several nephews.
A celebration of life with family and friends will be held at the Canton United Baptist Church on Saturday, April 27 at 1pm.
