

He was born in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada on May 16, 1939. He is one of 23 children born to Antoine and Marieanne Fournier Pelletier and Donia Pelletier. He was educated in Canadian schools and moved to Maine as a young adult and remained a lifelong resident. On July 16, 1960, he married the love of his life, former Charlene MacDonald of Auburn.
Prior to his retirement, he worked 40 years as a die maker at Eastern Die Company in Auburn.
Lucien enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage and playing poker every Friday night with friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a true friend to many. “PAPA” The man. The myth. The legend.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Charlene of Oxford; a son, Stewart Pelletier and wife Kim of Hebron; 3 daughters all of Auburn, Lorraine Bilodeau and husband Mark, Susette Webber and husband Jeff, Belinda Lavoie and husband Mark. Twelve grandchildren; Michael, Maranda (who is like a daughter to him), Jillian, Kyle, Jamie, Jocelyn, Jake, Jenni, Marissa, Mark, Hannah and Alexia and 21 great-grandchildren and he made time for all of them. He’s also survived by 5 brothers; Leonard, Laurier, Donald, Gaetan and Michel and 2 sisters; Germaine and Lucienne. Predeceased by his daughter Jeannine; both parents and stepmother, 10 brothers; Yves, Laurent, Percy, Alphee, Fern, Patrick, Rene, Leo, Clarence and Gilles; and 5 sisters; Rita, Murielle, Bertha, Nicole and Theresa.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1-3 pm Friday, January 31st at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Pkwy, Lewiston, ME. Funeral service immediately following at 3 pm. Burial service will be held in the spring at Gracelawn in Auburn.
