Richard grew up in Northport, New York until 1970 when he moved to Sumner, Maine with his parents Charles and Joan Dillon.
Richard is survived by his loving children and son in law, Cassandra Dubois, Brian Dubois, Shannon Dillon, Connor Dillon and granddaughter Kali Dubois.
Richard served in the United States Army and was a recipient of several medals during his time of duty. He was honorably discharged in 1984. Upon his discharge Private Dillon attended U.S. Military Transport School and assisted in U.S. Army recruitment. He was an experienced Welder and jack of all trades.
Richard was a loyal friend who would do anything for anyone. He loved being outside whether it was riding his Harley, fishing down by the river, working on a new project or barbecuing all year round. Richard was the life of the party and was always down for a social gathering for an excuse to cook for friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
