

Scarborough- Russell W. Piper, 79, passed away on November 2nd, 2013, at the Gosnel Memorial Hospice House. Russell was born on November 1st, 1934, in Steuben, Maine. He was the son of the late Leon and Grace (Tenan) Piper.
Russell went to local Steuben schools and attended Steuben High School. After high school, he went to work for the city of Portland, driving plow and dump trucks. He then went on to drive tractor trailers for Humpty Dumpty. Before retiring, he went to work for Cape Elizabeth schools, as a janitor.
Russell loved to go camping, hunting, fishing, anything that kept him outside. He also enjoyed talking to anyone, didn’t matter if you were a lifelong friend, or a complete stranger.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Alrene Piper, his two children; a daughter, Teri-Lyn Piper and her fiancé Russell Kubeck, of Wallingford, CT; and Son Michael Piper, of Windham, ME; a grandson, Casey Piper, of Wallingford, CT; a great granddaughter, Kharma Piper, of Wallingford, CT; a sister, Sandra Daley, and her two children, Todd and wife Nicky Daley and their family, and Nannette and Roy Haddock and their daughter Hannah Folsum; and many nephews.
There will be a private, family only, memorial service held in Russell’s name.
