Sharon (Moran) Shaw

Portland, ME – Sharon (Moran) Shaw, 57, of Scarborough and formerly of Portland lost her two year battle with cancer on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Shaw, who died in 2002.

Sharon was born in Portland on November 27, 1954 a daughter of the late Basil & Lorraine (Corey) Moran. She was raised and went to school in Portland, which is also where she spent most of her life. 

Sharon was a caregiver through and through. She lovingly raised her son Alan but did not stop with him, Alan’s friends were always welcome into her home, as well as anyone needing a helping hand, which included animals as well as family and friends. Once Alan had children of his own, Sharon even moved into their home to help raise her grandchildren.

Sharon will be sadly missed by her son Alan J. Shaw and his wife Rebecca and their three children, Madison, Lily and Allie all of Scarborough. She also leaves two brothers Gardiner Corey and his wife Charlene of Southington, CT and Jimmy Jones of Long Beach, CA; two sisters Melinda Moran of Windham and Michelle Bellanceau of Westbrook as well as several nieces and nephews. Sharon was also the sister of the late Greg Moran and Roland Jones.

At the family’s request, services will be private.
