

Portland, ME - Stanwood Keith Bridges, Sr. died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at home with his loved ones around him in Portland, Maine. He was born on August 21, 1924, the son of the late Franklin Theodore and Marguerite Bridges.
He is survived by his four children, Linda Price and husband Terry in Chattanooga, TN, Wanda Thompson and husband Rev. Ron Thompson in LaGrange, WY, Stanwood Bridges, Jr. and his wife Dawn in Matamoras, PA and Pamela Manning and her husband Mark in Portland, ME, 12 grandchildren (Sandra Avery, Donald Price, Kara Valdez, Lora Thompson, Stanwood Keith Bridges, III, Nicole Bridges, Tori Welch, Vanessa Harsch, William Bridges, Christopher Moore, Daniel Manning, Mark A. Manning, and ten great grandchildren.
Stanwood was a member of First Baptist Church in Portland where he played a very active role there. He grew up loving to teach Sunday School and Bible Study classes, was a mentor to several men, and also was a talented tenor soloist, played various musical instruments, and served as choir director in several churches for many years.
He was a Navy veteran in World War II and the Korean War and played an important communication role on his ship.
He managed many businesses, was a consultant, and owned MCE, which was started in Greensburg, PA. He also owned Sea Air (a marine compass business) in Portland, ME.
A private Memorial Service will be held for the family, and a formal military burial will take place at a later date.
