Aja Naike Holmes

Aja Naike Holmes was born January 15, 1981 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended schools in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from Millbrook High School. Aja started her higher education at North Carolina State University and graduated from University of Phoenix in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree after majoring in Business and Administration. It was her passion to work in the Pharmacy field and in recent times mentioned loving her job and also feeling happy with all of her current and former co-workers.

Aja was a devoted Mother who made unaccountable sacrifices for her children’s happiness. She enjoyed spending time with her girls, Amaya and Ania, especially their unrehearsed laughable moments. A few of the many ways Aja believed in creating memories was by traveling, attending various sporting events and taking in concerts. She had a pleasant demeanor, warm inviting smile and a genuine kindness that was felt by all whose lives she touched. Aja was an avid reader and could enjoy a nice glass of wine. Every Football Sunday, you could find Aja with her Philadelphia Eagles gear anxious to cheer her favorite team on.

Aja is lovingly survived by her daughters, Amaya and Ania Holmes, Parents, Gail and Ronald Holmes, sister Maia Johnson (Terrell Sr.), nieces, Gabrielle Thompson, Neihimah Johnson, Kayleigh Johnson and Sydney Johnson, nephew, Terrell Johnson Jr., godson, Julius Dunn, best friend, Mishawn Hunter and significant other, Cory Lee. Aja was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine Sims, Evelyn Young and Phillip Johnson. Aja had a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will also cherish her memory.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church (5801 Falls of Neuse Rd) at 11:00 am on December 30, 2021. There will be an inurnment at the Columbarium following Mass. Please feel free to accompany the family.
